Do you ever wonder what are sensor lights and how they work? Sensor lights are lights that have motion sensors in-build into them. Motion sensors are small electronic eyes that transmit electromagnetic wave patterns, mostly infrared i.e. heat waves and detect patterns in reflected waves that signify moving objects. When the sensor senses an object moving across its field of view especially warmer objects such as people, animals and cars it electronically turns on the lights. That way when there is movement in the range of the motion sensor of your light, the sensor light comes on and when there is no movement, it goes off. Due to the fact that we rarely stay completely still, a sensor light will generally stay on when there is someone in the range of its sensor and go off otherwise. This is quite handy because it means you can save electricity when there is no one in a room or near a security light.
